Is it the money, the fame, or the luxurious life? Or is it in mental peace, a healthy body, and a good life?
We all define wealth differently, but its origins had to do with welfare, wellbeing, and happiness.
Where does real wealth lie, if not in money?
Am I saying money can’t make you wealthy? No. Money indeed is vital in making one wealthy; however, it is only temporary. It is like the morning dew on grass that vanishes when the sun rises.

He who wants everlasting wealth—true richness—has got to look in a completely different direction: one where he will never get disappointed or have to worry that he or she may become broke again. Something more than money, greater than life?
Eternity through Christ.
Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
14 But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” 15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of [c]covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
If true wealth doesn’t lie within plain riches and money, then where is it?
Jesus Counsels the Young Ruler
Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect,go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” (Matthew 19:21)
Jesus goes on to say something more profound concerning those who trust in their riches in Matthew 19:23-25:
23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
Indeed, who then among us can get saved?
Parable of the Rich Fool
16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully.17 And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ 18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’
21 “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
Where there is life, there is eternity. There lies true wealth. And Jesus solemnly promises those who lay down their lives to follow Him:
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[e] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
What more can you ask for than eternal life? Is there anything in this world greater than this?
I urge you to lay your treasure where no thief is, where what you have will not be shaken nor be taken. It is yours forever. And that’s in Christ.
