Satan will often come disguised as an angel of light. He tends to sound as if the thoughts are actually your own. There are three voices you will hear in your head: yourself, God, or the devil. Indeed God’s voice too, sometimes sounds like your own thoughts, and you can only distinguish it by discernment. The devil’s voice does the same. However, the devil can never fully hide himself. Somewhat there are always three characteristics in his voice:
He doubts God’s love and goodness
He questions God’s Word
He tends to bring you down or attack your identity
The devil will attack you at your weakest points—when you feel lonely or empty—and try to exploit and gaslight you.
In such times, you should guard yourself with the armor of God so that you can stand and overcome.
This devil only prevails when his lies and intrusive thoughts are agreed with-by you. Give him an inch and he will take a mile. The more you believe his lies, the deeper he takes you captive. Consider Judas: from stealing from the offertory… to being tempted to collude with the Pharisees to betray Jesus and make more money. Where did that take him?
Suicide!
You still have the power to resist. Satan only plants the seed, and it is up to you whether it grows or dies. Will you allow his intrusive, evil, and prideful thoughts to dictate your life, or will you stand on your convictions and resist him using the Word?
In the end; if you collude, it’s you who sinned, not the devil. He suggested; you agreed. So who shall be held accountable? You and me.
Cast down these thoughts, take them captive, and realign your thinking with the Word of God.
The mistake some so called Christians make; is thinking grace through Christ justified them from sin. They think to themselves, we can keep sinning after all Christ set us free! Is it so? Does getting saved guarantee you will make it to heaven- what did Jesus Himself say?
