Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 5:20-21 NKJV)
The law came to expose and increase the awareness of sin. But where sin multiplied and grew strong, grace multiplied even more—overwhelmingly, superabundantly.
Where sin once reigned, bringing death, now grace reigns through righteousness, leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
His mercies far surpass our sins. No matter how much sin increased, His grace increased all the more. This reveals the depth of your Father’s love for you.
By grace you stand—not in your own strength, but in Jesus Christ. In Him, you now declare that you are righteous. He who knew no sin became sin for us—paying the full ransom—so that we, the sinners, could be delivered once and for all.
We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
He stooped down from His glorious throne in heaven and humbled Himself to become a mere man through His Son. He suffered, was mocked, tortured, and crucified to death.
All of this was for you. This is love. Our God is love.
The Blood of Abel vs. the Blood of Jesus
…to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. (Hebrews 12:24 NKJV)
Abel was murdered out of his brother Cain’s jealousy. His blood cried out from the ground for justice and judgment.
And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.” (Genesis 4:10)
As a result, Cain received a curse: the ground would no longer yield its strength for him, and he would become a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth!
In the old covenant, innocent blood cried for judgment and brought condemnation.
But now, in the new covenant, the blood of Jesus speaks a better word.
On the cross, Jesus prayed:
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)
His blood does not cry for vengeance or judgment against those who crucified Him. Instead, it cries out mercy. It cries out forgiveness. It cries out love.
The Lord’s arms remain wide open—inviting every sinner, every one of us, to come.
Come and receive the free gift of grace, the very gift He purchased with His own life and blood.
Where sin once increased, grace now increases all the more.
Let His grace reign in your life—not so you can keep sinning, but so you can live righteously, freely, and eternally through Jesus Christ our Lord.
His love is greater. His mercy is deeper. His blood speaks better things.
