From the time of Adam all the way until John the Baptist, we see many prominent figures who walked in power and exercised it extensively through the Holy Spirit.
From Noah, Job, Elijah, Solomon, Moses, and many more—all these men had one thing in common. They always relied on God, not on their feelings, their connections, or their wealth.
It was their journey with God that set them apart, which is why we still speak of them today. We are no different today. The power in the Word is still alive—sharper than any double-edged sword, cutting to the soul and even dividing bone from marrow.
Modern Ideologies That Limit God’s Power
Some contemporary Christians have developed ideologies suggesting that God stopped performing miracles, that He no longer speaks, or that speaking in tongues was only for the apostles.
I will tell you this: if you are one of these people or believe these assumptions, you are only lying to yourself. Every aspect of the Bible is very much alive and powerful to this very day. Even Christ confirmed this:
“For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.”
There Is Still Power in the Word of God
There is power in the Word of God—power to move mountains, authority to raise the dead, and power to heal the sick.
Some may wonder, if what I claim is correct, why don’t we see these miracles in Christian churches more often?
This is not because God stopped performing miracles. It is because those responsible have fallen asleep. The Christian who is supposed to move the hand of God has left her place. Most have lost the way to the truth because of their lusts and prideful desires and are living in contradiction to the will of the Father. How can God work or move with people who cannot even align their lives with His Word?
Why some Old Testament Priests Lacked Power
Do you know why most priests in the Old Testament could not perform miracles, even though they ate the same food sacrificed to God, while Jesus, Elisha, and other great men did many wonders?
It was because they could not bring themselves to fully obey the law—not only appearing holy on the outside but also on the inside (in mind and heart). Don’t forget: the power is in the Word. If these priests could not live in full alignment with His law, how could they expect to move His hand and see signs and wonders?
Jesus Fulfilled the Law and Released Grace
That is why, when Christ came, there was a huge difference and a high number of miracles were manifested during His three-year ministry on earth. He fulfilled the law to its fullness, and in so doing the power of the Word was made manifest through Him. Moreover, He is the Word made flesh.
He not only performed these many signs but also chose to fulfill the law on your behalf. Yes, He did everything the law requires on your behalf. So you are no longer subject to adhering to the many rules the Pharisees pretended to follow. You have been set free. All you have to do is believe. That is all.
Faith and Alignment: The Keys to Seeing God Move
Faith is the currency God requires you to pay for Him to move in your life. However, He cannot work alongside you if you refuse to live in alignment with His will—His Word. Jesus took your seat and gave you His. He did not bind you to follow the law but gave you grace because He knew you could not do it on your own.
Return to the Secret Place
Going back to why miracles are not as common today: it is because many are not in the secret place to know God’s will for their lives. God still speaks, and those who truly know Him listen.
That is why I am here—to ask you to go back to the secret place. If you have not been going, please start today.
That is where you will meet God one-on-one, and He will reveal Himself to you.
Not by merely going to church on Sundays and stopping there. Don’t you know that deep calls unto deep? If you really want to know the secret those prominent figures used, you have to draw close to the well—the well of living water, the well of life.
And do not forget: it is by faith. Only then shall He be made manifest in your life.
