In other words, what can I do to get baptised by, and learn the ways of the Holy Spirit (God)?
Step 1
Repent, turn back from your sins
Get baptised and accept Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour. You cannot fully comprehend the ways of a kingdom unless you have been taught and initiated into it; by some teacher or person who at least knows something about it. The Holy Spirit is the supreme teacher in this kingdom, you get Him the day you’re baptised.
Then your faith in Him will become manifest. And if you abide in Him, and Him in you, in no time you will start growing in faith. The only thing you need to please God is your faith in Him. He ensures to see that those who rely on Him never get disappointed. If you follow His ways with all your heart and hold unto His heart and consider His word in all you do. Then it’s only a matter of time before He makes Himself manifest in your life.
He says, “I AM WHAT I AM,” is his name. That’s a mystery for another day but today, all you need to know Him, is the Holy Spirit. Who resides in you from the day you accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour. And how you walk with Him(Holy Spirit), determines to what extent, He manifests in your life. We all start out as babes and mature into young men and later into adults then elders.
What do I need to get started?
God works in mysterious ways, so don’t be fooled by religious leaders that you are not worthy or there is some sort of master guide you have to follow in order to get saved or get delivered. The only master piece you will ever need as a Christian is a Bible plus the Holy Spirit, the rest are not so essential. Those two above, are sufficient for your spiritual growth although we all know that; no man is an island. Go to a local church for physical guidance from trustworthy people and Christian brethren.
What it takes to make Him manifest
If you look at a person like Enoch, who walked with God faithfully until he was no more! Also another famous figure, Moses. He walked with God as He led Israel in the midst of the wilderness for 40 solid years. God even used to come down in a pillar of smoke and reside with Moses and talk to him as you would with a friend(face to face). To the extent that Moses asked to behold God’s glory; which he saw from behind.
These two figures show you one major element, nothing made them special. Not a thing, apart from their faith. That’s what changed everything. And that’s all you need to do for God to reveal Himself to you through the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit helps us understand the things of God. For they are too deep for us to comprehend. Look at the book Revelation for instance. Is there any man alive who can dare say they have the full interpretation?
Our focus however shouldn’t be on the manifestations of the Holy Spirit, ie miracles, speaking in tongues, wonders, etc but on our walk with God. As God puts it, in Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
So if you think you are seeking God but are only interested in miracles, you are on the wrong path. And most times you don’t even know until the truth is laid before you.(Click here to find out whether you are truly following God or only want miracles from Him?)
With time, if you are truly committed to following God with your life and have put your faith in Him. This will no longer be a question in your mind because it will be answered.
Just as you didn’t notice the day you grew taller, you will not pick on when you grew spiritually. For as long as you are consistent and walk in truth—there will be signs.
