If you are to win, the biggest war is from inside. And sometimes it may not go as planned because your biggest enemies are on your team (flesh). This is the cross to carry. Nothing is more dangerous than an enemy who knows you inside out.
You may aspire to please God or try to be good but your own flesh will testify against you. The battle for the mind. Your spirit wants God but the flesh is weak, who suffers then?
You. The choice to stand in Christ is made daily, every hour, every minute, in the face of temptation. Shall you overcome or trade your destiny for a bowl of soup, like Esau?
The choice is yours to make, free will.
That means he who aspires to win has to fight much more than mere men do. That is, ensure your Spirit is much stronger than your body, and there your will can choose what is right. But if your body is stronger than your Spirit? Who then shall you blame?
Is it your body or Spirit? Isn’t it still you?
This war doesn’t stop. It goes on every minute, every hour, everyday. Till the day, you stop breathing! Maybe then, you may rest.
What does that mean? You must die a thousand deaths daily, if you are to triumph in the Spirit. In the pain, in the trials and temptations you overcome, your Spirit is wielded. All fine swords are surely tested and forged in fire, only then can they be refined into extremely useful weapons. So are you to God.
Consider what you want, is it temporary comfort over eternal pain or eternal triumph over momentary pain? The choice is yours
For which one of you, when he wants to build a watchtower [for his guards], does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to finish it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is unable to finish [the building], all who see it will begin to ridicule him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish!’
Only then can you be at peace with your decision rather than constantly doubting yourself. Those who shall win, take a side. They are never double minded, otherwise they may end up destroying themselves instead! You can not serve both your flesh and God simultaneously.
The question is plain and simple.
Which side are you on?
