Are you facing rejection?

Rejection

Rejection Is Something We All Know

Everyone has faced rejection, even if you doubt it. Rejection can come from a potential partner. It can also mean isolation by friends or family, or being chased out of a club.

We have all felt it in varying ways. Shockingly, even Christ sometimes felt rejected—not by strangers, but by His own countrymen, His brothers, and fellow servants of God. This was very evident in the way these so-called servants of God, the Pharisees and Sadducees, ridiculed Jesus. They attacked Him verbally many times, and some tried to trick Him by His own words so that they could have a case against Him.

The Stone the Builders Rejected

Christ once recalled this Scripture when the Pharisees were questioning Him, in Matthew 21:42–44 (NKJV):

Jesus was calling out the priests. As much as they had done a great job resisting Him, they were only doing so to their own demise. He was the very Law they were trying so badly to protect and defend. That is why He goes on in verse 44: “And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

It will grind him to powder. This was the fate of those who resisted this stone—Christ—and it remains the fate of those who resist Christ to this day.

Turn Your Rejection Over to Christ

Coming back to you: if you are facing rejection, turn back to Christ now and surrender to Him all your worries. Whether your boyfriend left you, your family has neglected you, or you just got fired from your job. Let Christ take over, and concentrate on Him, not on your problems.

When you give Him the front seat of your life, He becomes the driver. Whoever now resists you is indirectly resisting Christ, who is working within you. Whoever is trying to reject you is rejecting Christ, who is at work within you.

In so doing, Christ will be the one fighting your battles, not you yourself. And if God is on your side, what can mere man do to you?

Isn’t Christ Better Than Rejection?

What can men give you that God cannot? Is it money, love, companionship, a sense of belonging, or glory? All these—and even more—can be found in Christ. And in double measure. Turn to Him. He who overcame rejection will overcome it again on your behalf.
