Can money make you wealthy?Jesus’Answer to Riches and the Kingdom

Money and happiness

Is money the true source of happiness?

Is it the money, the fame, or the luxurious life? Or is it in mental peace, a healthy body, and a good life?

We all define wealth differently, but its origins had to do with welfare, wellbeing, and happiness.

Where does real wealth lie, if not in money?

Am I saying money can’t make you wealthy? No. Money indeed is vital in making one wealthy; however, it is only temporary. It is like the morning dew on grass that vanishes when the sun rises.

He who wants everlasting wealth—true richness—has got to look in a completely different direction: one where he will never get disappointed or have to worry that he or she may become broke again. Something more than money, greater than life?

Eternity through Christ.

Luke 12:13-15

Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

14 But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” 15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of [c]covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

If true wealth doesn’t lie within plain riches and money, then where is it?

Jesus Counsels the Young Ruler

Jesus goes on to say something more profound concerning those who trust in their riches in Matthew 19:23-25:

Indeed, who then among us can get saved?

Parable of the Rich Fool

Luke 12:16-21

Where there is life, there is eternity. There lies true wealth. And Jesus solemnly promises those who lay down their lives to follow Him:

Matthew 19:29

I urge you to lay your treasure where no thief is, where what you have will not be shaken nor be taken. It is yours forever. And that’s in Christ.
